Rubicon

The bridge is just a symbol, of
The things we can't quite see beyond
It's a passage and an avenue
To what we might yet say and do.

And who can tell, how we'll end up
What potion yet might fill our cup
From the waters running, down below
That's something we must try, to know.

It's there, it's always waiting..
It is we, so hesitating...
To take the step, first timid step
Perhaps commit, beyond our depth.

Is the light so faintly shining
Promise of, some silver lining, or
Is it just another false new dawn
That draws a fool to go on, and on (and on).

The bridge, it just ain't saying
There's no point in standing... waiting
Soon we need to make a choice
Say it loud, in clearest voice.

So tell me, what is in your heart?
Tell me, will you make a start?
Tell me now, a decision clear
State it firm, so all can hear.

Will you cross with me, to the other side?
Will you walk away, run and hide?
Will you fall, to changing circumstance?
Or taste new waters, with me... take a chance?

Will you taste, a little chance, with me?
